And there is growing feeling behind-the-scenes at the Emirates that Gazidis will accept the offer from Italy, with members of staff expecting a resolution to the uncertainty surrounding his future by mid-September.
Gazidis has played a lead role in implementing some key changes at the club in recent months – namely the departure of Arsene Wenger and appointment of new manager Unai Emery as his successor.
The 53-year-old has always been determined to leave Arsenal in a better position than when he arrived almost 10 years ago.

And the changes made to the club’s footballing operation over the past 12 months has certainly made Arsenal a more modern-day outfit, particularly in terms of player recruitment.
But the temptation of joining one of the world’s most prestigious clubs – in addition to the pay increase – looks too good an opportunity to turn down.
Josh Kroenke, son of owner Stan, has played an influential role at the club in recent months and could emerge as a candidate to replace Gazidis if he decides to leave the club.
Meanwhile, exciting academy graduate Reiss Nelson is set to join Hoffenheim before the end of the month.
The exciting forward has been locked in talks with the club over a new deal for several months but – as of yet – an agreement has not been reached.
A deal to Hoffenheim could see Nelson sign a new contract with Arsenal before heading to Germany on loan.
