Fantasy Premier League tips: Which players offer most points per million? (Image: GETTY)

The Premier League has only been back for three weeks but fantasy football bosses are already despairing over their team selections following the latest fixtures.

Few of the big-hitting players turned up last time out with Manchester City dropping points at Wolves and Arsenal failing to keep a clean sheet against West Ham.

Meanwhile, were comprehensively outplayed by Tottenham while Liverpool could only put one goal past a Brighton side who are notoriously poor on their travels.

However, Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane both found the back of the net in GW3 to offer some respite for those who have invested heavily in their superstar players.

Other managers look to build a more balanced squad, with FPL gaffers seeking out bargain buys who offer value for money.

Three Bournemouth players are among the best at providing big points for a small initial output, while Watford also boast some tempting differentials who are punching above their weight.

Liverpool made it three wins on the bounce after their 1-0 victory over Brighton, but star man Salah is arguably not yet worth his £13million price tag.

A trio of Reds team-mates offer better value than the Egyptian, but who else makes up the top 15 bargain targets ahead of GW4?

Fantasy Premier League tips Callum Wilson

DEF – Ricardo Pereira (Leicester City): £5.1m – 3.5 points per million

Two assists and a clean sheet don’t tell the whole story for Leicester’s new Portuguese right-back.

24-year-old also picked up three bonus points for his performance against Wolves and is proving a steal in the Foxes rearguard.

MID – James Milner (Liverpool): £5.6m – 3.6 points per million

Really shining in midfield this season, preventing new signing Fabinho from getting a look-in while captain Jordan Henderson is also stuck on the bench.

FWD – Callum Wilson (Bournemouth): £6.1m – 3.6 points per million

Shook off a penalty miss on the opening day of the campaign to provide a goal and an assist against Cardiff.

Also provided another goal against West Ham as the 26-year-old out-shines his strike partner Josh King.

Fantasy Premier League tips Kieran Trippier

Fantasy Premier League tips Aleksandar Mitrovic

DEF – Nathan Ake (Bournemouth): £5.0m – 3.6 points per million

The Cherries are undefeated so far this season, with Ake finding the back of the net during their 2-2 draw with Everton.

DEF – Kieran Trippier (Tottenham Hotspur): £6.0m – 3.7 points per million

Tripper enjoyed a fantastic World Cup and has carried his form over into the Premier League.

A long-range blockbuster against Fulham was backed up with an assist, clean sheet and two bonus points as Spurs saw off Manchester United.

FWD – Aleksandar Mitrovic (Fulham): £6.6m – 3.7 points per million

Potentially the bargain buy of the summer with Fulham snapping up the Serbian for a reported £22million.

FPL bosses could get their hands on him for just £6.5m at the start of the campaign and Mitrovic has repaid their faith with three goals and an assist already.

DEF – James Tarkowski (Burnley): £5.0m – 3.8 points per million

It was hard to pick a stand-out candidate from the Burnley defence during the summer but Tarkwoski has stepped up with two goals in his past two appearances.

Fantasy Premier League tips Roberto Pereyra

Fantasy Premier League tips Andrew Robertson

DEF – Joe Gomez (Liverpool): £5.0m – 4.0 points per million

Injuries to Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren have handed Gomez a chance at centre-back and the youngster has grabbed it with both hands.

Three clean sheets so far for Liverpool while Gomez also picked up two bonus points last time out.

MID – Roberto Pereyra (Watford): £6.2m – 4.2 points per million

Handed the task of filling Richarlison’s shoes this season and the Argentinian is succeeding so far.

Pereyra was on the scoresheet once again as Watford continue their winning start to the season.

DEF – Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City): £6.3m – 4.3 points per million

Mendy had a relatively quiet afternoon as City dropped points away at Wolves, with the Frenchman’s run of assists coming to an end.

However, his good work in the opening matches mean he is still great value for money.

DEF – Andrew Robertson (Liverpool): £6.1m – 4.4 points per million

The real beneficiary of Liverpool’s new-found defensive resilience, with the Scottish full-back receiving bonus points in every match so far.

Ill-discipline is costing team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold a chance of picking up the extras, so Robertson is well worth the extra money.

Fantasy Premier League tips Jose Holebas

Fantasy Premier League tips Marcos Alonso

DEF – Steve Cook (Bournemouth): £4.6m – 4.6 points per million

A match-winning performance against West Ham in GW2 shot Cook straight into the FPL shop window, with the centre-back harvesting a massive 14 points against the Hammers.

DEF – Jose Holebas (Watford): £4.6m – 5.2 points per million

Holebas has provided plenty of attacking returns for the Hornets so far this season, with a goal against Crystal Palace the latest contribution.

Two assists against Brighton and four bonus points across his three fixtures suggest the Greek defender is well worth investing in.

DEF – Marcos Alonso (Chelsea): £6.7m – 5.2 points per million

The Spaniard was tipped to struggle with a change of formation at Stamford Bridge but has delivered double-figure returns in all three matches so far this season.

GK – Neil Etheridge (Cardiff City): £4.6m – 6.2 points per million

Back-to-back penalty saves mean the Cardiff stopper is currently riding high as the best value Premier League player so far this season.
