release date is fast approaching with Battle Royale fans saying farewell to season 6 and hello to a brand new Battle Pass.

Fortnite season 6 is set to have its final full day soon, with Fortnite season 7 possibly launching as early as next week.

Epic Games will be launching Fortnite season 7 on multiple platforms as per usual – PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PC and Mac.

And there’s plenty of rumours about what fans can expect from the season 7 Battle Pass.

Ahead of the start of Fortnite season 7 Express.co.uk has rounded up all the latest news on the upcoming Battle Pass.

FORTNITE SEASON 7 – WHEN IS THE RELEASE DATE?

The Fortnite season 6 Battle Pass is playable right now and features 100 tiers to unlock and Battle Royale rewards worth over 25,000 V-Bucks.

The Fortnite season 6 Battle Pass also comes with an in-game countdown showing how much time is left until the current Battle Royale season ends.

At the moment the countdown in the Battle Pass says the final full day to play Fortnite season 6 will be Wednesday December 5 2018.

Historically, new Fortnite seasons have begun the day after the final day of the previous Fortnite season.

So that could mean that Fortnite season 7 has a release date of Thursday December 6 2018.

However, Epic Games do have form in delaying the release of a number of their previous Battle Passes.

So it’s possible that the Fortnite season 7 release date could get delayed.

FORTNITE SEASON 7 – HAVE ANY SKINS BEEN REVEALED?

Ahead of the Fortnite season 7 launch Epic Games may have teased the first new skin coming with the next Battle Pass.

Those who purchased the Fortnite season 7 Battle Pass are – like with previous releases – expected to get two starter skins.

And speculation is mounting among Battle Royale fans that Epic Games may have revealed one of these Fortnite season 7 skins.

The Fortnite week 10 loading screen is now available for players to unlock.

And in the crowds eagle-eyed Fortnite fans spotted one long-lost skin.

The onesie skin, which was previously leaked, can be seen in the Fortnite week 10 loading screen.

This skin was thought to be dropping during Fortnite season 6 but in October the in-game files for it were suddenly removed.

It led fans to thinking that the Fortnite onesie skin could have been consigned to the scrap heap.

But its reemergence in the Fortnite week 10 loading screen has led to speculation among fans that it could be being teased for a season 7 launch.

It’s also highly likely Fortnite season 7 will offer a number of Christmas skins to tie in with the holiday season.

FORTNITE SEASON 7 – WHAT ARE THE LATEST LEAKS? WHAT WILL THE THEME BE? WILL THERE BE A NEW MAP?

It’s widely rumoured that Fortnite season 7 will have a Christmas theme with the Battle Royale map being turned into a winter wonderland.

Fortnite season 6 launched around the time of Halloween and had a spooky, ‘Darkness Rises’ theme.

So it stands to reason that Epic Games could follow this up by having its next Fortnite Battle Pass themed around a seasonal period once again.

It’s rumoured that Fortnite season 7 could see the Battle Royale map turned into a snowy, winter wonderland.

And a number of recent leaks have backed up this theory.

Popular dataminer Fortnite Battle Royale Leaks has discovered assets which suggest the Fortnite map in season 7 will be covered in snow.

In the Fortnite 6.31 update the @FNBRLeaks Twitter account discovered files which suggest an icy, wintery event is coming to Fortnite.

The files relate to an impending ice storm event, and comes after the dataminer also discovered in-game sound files for players walking in the snow.

The ice event may relate to an nearby storm that Battle Royale players have spotted on the Fortnite horizon.

This storm, since the release of the Fortnite 6.31 patch, has appeared closer to the Battle Royale map.

And some players have managed to actually travel out to it to investigate.

It turns out that when you get closer to it the Fortnite storm is, in fact, an iceberg covered with mist.

Hackers have also discovered that the huge iceberg has a tiny castle turret on it.

This looks to suggest that Fortnite season 7 will see the long-rumoured castle POI finally added to Battle Royale.

Maybe the start of Fortnite season 7 will see the iceberg crash into the map, turning it into a winter wonderland and adding the new castle location?

Other rumours claim the A.I.M hunting party skin will somehow play a part in the destruction of Tilted Towers at the start of Fortnite season 7.

FORTNITE SEASON 7 – WHEN WILL THE FIRST TEASER BE RELEASED?

With previous season crossovers, Epic Games published daily teasers on Twitter in the run-up to it.

This happened with the launch of Fortnite season 4, Fortnite season 5 and Fortnite season 6.

If Fortnite season 7 does launch on Thursday December 6, then the first teaser is likely to drop on Monday – judging by past Battle Pass launches.

If that’s so, then it’s likely there will be Fortnite season 7 teasers the following Tuesday and Wednesday.

The teasers typically drop on Twitter at 3pm UK time.
