- The video took a swipe at recent rumours linking Marseille with Mario Balotelli
Marseille unveiled new signing Kevin Strootman with a Fortnite-themed video which they posted to Twitter on Tuesday.
Inspired by the popular Battle Royale game, the video was packaged in the first person with viewers watching on through the eyes of Strootman’s character, the ‘Flying Dutchman’.
In the video, Strootman, a £23million arrival from Roma, glides onto the club’s training pitch, before getting changed into Marseille’s new kit.

He is taunted by a character performing the ‘Take The L’ dance, but soon deals with him by striking a ball at the joker.
Marseille then display a novel way to deal with transfer talk as the text ‘ELIMINATED: #AnnounceBalo’ appears on the screen.
This is a reference to Nice striker Mario Balotelli, who had been persistently linked with a move to Marseille all summer.
Balotelli looks highly unlikely to join Marseille before this week’s transfer deadline but the arrival of Strootman will come as a big boost for a side who have taken just four points from their first three games this season.
Dutch international Strootman featured in 47 matches for club and country last season. He played the full 90 minutes in Roma’s 1-0 win over Torino earlier this month too.
